A week ago, on October the 10th, we officially opened the exhibition Handel in Naarden: uit de collectie Ton Koopman at the Comenius Museum in Naarden.

The program began in the mausoleum with contributions by Eva Moraal (director of the Comenius Museum), Ton Koopman, Jan van Berkel (president of the Nederlandse Händelvereniging) en municipal councilor Nico Schimmel. Lastly a word by Ton Koopman and then the official opening with major Han ter Heegde.

The exhibition is located on the first floor. The prints and the objects are disposed on decorated panels carefully designed by Sonja de Boer with the technical assistance of Ronald van Westrenen. Beside prints and drawings, the exhibition shows a Kroesbergen harpsichord (copy of a Stefanini instrument) from the collection of Koopman, as well as original editions and manuscripts from the Koopman/Orpheus Institute library.

Madelief Feenstra has designed a lovely sperutocht [treasure hunt] for children to guide them through the panels and the information.

The informative texts were written by myself, Anna Bianco, and Eline Holl.
